Pansies and Dianthus have filled the south end of #7 after the hanging baskets were moved. With a crew of transplanters this takes a little less than 1 1/2 days. 7pansymar11.jpg (45293 bytes)

The Primula are really starting to take off. We are having to keep them rather dry to slow them down. By the end of the month they should be in the outside beds. Check them out a month ago. Soon to go outside!

The hanging baskets in # 7 are up. They will soon start to overflow the baskets. Many thanks to Colin and Philina! Look up!

The dracaena are growing and are much greener then when they were planted. Looks like the mice are not ahead of us yet. They can take over!

An interesting phenomenon  happens at certain times if conditions are right. If you look closely at this picture you will see "fog". This has occurred because of a sudden rise in humidity due to just watering the greenhouse (see the water in the centre aisle). 7feb23mist.jpg (41204 bytes)

Number 7 is nearly full by Feb. 8. This picture is taken from the very end of the greenhouse, 195 feet long. 7northfeb8.jpg (37947 bytes)

The primula are shown here. They have been transplanted about 1 week. Beneath the transplanted primula is an image of the seedling trays before they are transplanted.

Dracaena commonly known as "spikes" were also transplanted in the last week. One of the biggest problems that we have with dracaena is the "timbering" done by mice. They will go into an area and just eat the stems off at the base. It is often hard to tell that they have been there until you start taking flats away.

This is a view of the #7 from the middle looking south. These are New Guinea Impatiens hanging baskets. They will stay on the floor until well established and then hung overhead in this and other greenhouses. The second image is a close-up of those hanging baskets.
